What the pack is, how it reaches you, and — just as important — what Asset Vault is not.
What exactly is the Sale-Ready Vault Pack?
A digital kit of fillable templates, checklists and worksheets for documenting a collector or enthusiast car: a vehicle record master file and build sheet, service and DIY history logs, receipts and parts provenance logs, photo shot lists, valuation worksheets and a sale-ready export builder. You fill it in as you own the car, and it assembles into the record packet buyers, auction houses and insurers ask for. See everything inside.
Is Asset Vault a vehicle history report like CARFAX?
No. History reports aggregate data reported by shops, insurers and agencies. Asset Vault is the owner-side record: the documentation you create and keep, including the DIY and independent-shop work that never reaches those databases. It is not a history report, an appraisal, or a valuation service, and it does not replace any of them.
Will this put my DIY work on a CARFAX report?
No — and be skeptical of anything that promises it can. History reports only show what dealers, participating shops, insurers and agencies feed them; work you log yourself, in any app, never reaches the official report a buyer pulls. The pack takes the other route: it puts the evidence directly in front of your buyer — dated logs, parts and receipts, photos of the work in progress — inside the packet you hand over at sale time. It doesn’t change the official report. It makes sure the official report isn’t the whole story.
Which cars does it work for?
Any collector, classic, modern collectible, restomod or enthusiast car — any marque and any era. The system was designed around how online auctions like Bring a Trailer and Cars & Bids evaluate listings, but the same file serves private sales and insurance documentation.
How do I receive the pack?
It is a digital download. When checkout opens, your purchase email includes the complete kit — fillable PDFs and spreadsheets — available immediately. Nothing is shipped and there is no account to create. Sales open first to the founding list.
What if the pack isn’t for me?
The 30-Day One-Car Guarantee. Download the pack and build the vault for one real car. If it doesn’t make your car’s record clearer, more complete, and easier to hand to a buyer or an insurer, contact us within 30 days of purchase — by replying to the email address in your order confirmation — and we refund you in full. One guarantee per customer.
Do you store my documents?
Not with the pack. The templates live in your own files and storage, under your control — that is deliberate. The hosted Garage Vault subscription, now in development, will offer stored records for owners who want them.
What if the app I use now shuts down?
Then whatever it holds is at risk — and that failure is exactly what the pack is built to avoid. Apps keep your history on their servers, under an account: owners have lost vehicles and years of records to updates, logouts and shutdowns, with no file of their own to fall back on. The pack’s files live on your computer or drive, in standard formats (PDF and spreadsheets), with no account and no server. Nothing we do — or stop doing — can take them away. The Start Here guide includes a simple backup routine, because custody means the backup is yours to keep as well.
What is Garage Vault, and when does it launch?
Garage Vault is the hosted version of the system — a multi-car vault with stored records and one-click sale-ready exports — planned at $15 per month. It is in development and is not on sale yet. Founding-list members will be invited first. We are not publishing a launch date until it is ready.
I do my own work, so no shop has records on my car. Is this still useful?
That is exactly the gap the pack exists to fill. History databases only know what gets reported to them. Your own logs — dates, mileage, parts, photos of the work in progress — become the record of the work nobody else documented.
Can I start a file for a car I just bought?
Yes — purchase day is the best day to start. The ownership worksheet begins with your acquisition: seller, date, price, condition notes and your inspection findings. Every record you add from there builds the file the next buyer will pay for.
What formats are the files in, and what do I need to use them?
Fillable PDFs and spreadsheets (Excel / Google Sheets compatible). Any free PDF reader handles the forms; no special software and no subscription is required.
What do I need to fill in the forms?
A free PDF reader on a desktop or laptop computer — Adobe Acrobat Reader, or the viewer built into your browser — plus any spreadsheet app (Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice) for the workbooks. One caution, stated plainly: many phone PDF viewers show form fields but don’t reliably save what you type into them. Fill the forms on a computer, or print them and write by hand. Both work; a half-saved phone form is the one method that doesn’t.
